The cookie dialog is first drawn without the little icons in the buttons, at which point the buttons are evenly spaced and centered. Then the little icons are added and the now wider buttons repositoned, with the Deny button pushed slighly off the right side of the window. This happens rapidly, but slow enough to discern the buttons drawn without the little icons. In other instances, the dialog appears with the little icons already in the buttons which are correctly spaced.

How is this a duplicate of #316255 ?
They seem to be about completely different things.

The SeaMonkey Preferences are currently being ported to a new, different backend. I expect that only very serious Preferences bugs will be fixed in Sm 1.1.x. If (as comment #5 seems to imply) this bug also happens on Sm 2.0a1pre, it should be fixed certainly on the trunk (maybe as part of the porting) -- and maybe or maybe not on the branch, depending on how severe it's considered to be.
Note: The Cookie prefs dialog is one of those which haven't yet been ported (I don't know whether its porting has started but in any case the appropriate patch hasn't yet landed in the nightly I'm using:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008041201 SeaMonkey/2.0a1pre
I don't see this bug but I'm using the Modern theme, where the pref dialogs have no icons.

I think this doesn't apply anymore. The "ask about cookies" dialog is dead and the prefs work fine. Please reopen if you think otherwise.
