1. Start Firefox (1.5 or trunk) 2. Open Help 3. Open Firefox menu Expected: See Preferences menu item Actual: Preferences menu item is missing 1. Start Firefox (1.5 or trunk) 2. Open Firefox menu 3. Close Firefox menu 4. Open Help 5. Open Firefox menu. Expected: See Preferences menu item Actual: See Preferences menu item It appears that having the Help window open interferes with the initialization of the Firefox menu.
Reporter, do you mean bug 221813 (menu is not functional) or is the preference-item really missing ? I'm not seeing that in Firefox 1.5

As I understand this report, it also (still) applies to FireFox 2.0. It appears that opening Help>FireFox Help prevents a number of other facilities in FireFox to be used, including Preferences. This is annoying. E.g. you may want to consult the help while setting Preferences. This is currently not possible (on Mac OS X).
Tested with FF 23 Nightly on OSX 10.8
