User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051107 Firefox/1.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051107 Firefox/1.5

Firefox crashes when I visit certain websites using Javascript, such as dexonline.com or lifetimetv.com. When I turn off Javascript, these websites do not work. When I am on dexonline.com, and I type in a name to search for the phone number and address or when I am on Lifetimetv.com and I try to click on a Lifetime program, I get the "firefox has generated errors...will close...", it closes, and I have to restart Firefox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Firefox
2. Visit dexonline.com or lifetimetv.com; search for a phone number on dex or try to visit a message board.
3. Firefox crashes.

Actual Results:
Firefox crashed again.

Expected Results:
It should have allowed the websites to function normally.

No, I don't. I did install Talkback today, and I went back to dexonline.com, and the same thing happened, so a report was made.
Here are the two Talkback IDs I have for this bug:

TB12031927H
TB12035151Q

Thanks!

I have Quicktime and Macromedia. Maybe some other plug-ins. How can I determine which ones I have?

Thanks! Here is the list of plug-ins I have:

Shockwave Flash
Mozilla Default Plug-In
Real Jukebox NS Plugin
RealPlayer(tm) G2 LiveConnect-Enabled Plug-In (32-bit)
RealPlayer Version Plugin
Adobe Acrobat
QuickTime Plug-in 7.0.3
Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library
Microsoft® DRM

Those are it.
Five bucks says it's Quicktime. (See bug 312217.)
Okay, so how can I tell if the problem is, indeed, Quicktime? Do I remove it???

I have racked up more Talkback IDs, same issue.
Here are more Talkback IDs:

TB12357455E
TB12328153X
TB12158449M
TB12082855K
TB12082729E

GAK!!!
I also wanted to mention that when I visit dexonline.com on Internet Explorer and do a telephone number search, IE crashes, too.
Okay, if it's crashing in IE, too, then it's Quicktime. Judging from the fact that Apple has fixed the bug. So, upgrading Quicktime should solve your crash.

I've already upgraded to Quicktime 7.0.3, and there is no newer version of Quicktime, and Firefox and IE are still crashing. What now?

We wait for Quicktime to fix their bug. Also, note that there might be subversions of 7.0.3. (When I checked to see if they'd released anything greater than 7.0.3 on Windows I think it showed 7.0.3.52 or something.) This has probably been fixed judging by the number of bug reprorts we've had lately...

Where can I get QT 7.0.3.52? I think only 7.0.3.50 is available. Not sure.
So is the best thing to do is upgrade to Windows XP, as this bug is not resolved at all. I have adjusted my QT settings, and Firefox is still crashing.

vlm123@gmail.com, please post the a valid talkback ID for the crash and we'll see if it's really Quicktime. If it is, then comment 12 and comment 14 still stand.
TB12832386H This is the Talkback ID for the crash that happened when I visited http://www.dexonline.com and tried to perform a number search.

TB12832398X This is the Talkback ID for the crash that occurred when I visited http://www.lifetimetv.com and clicked on the Designing Women link.
vlm123@gmail.com, those talkback IDs are all pretty useless. Could you follow the steps here and try to get a stacktrace using WinDbg? http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_with_WinDbg
I'm not sure I did the whole debugging process correctly. This is what happened when I tried to open the special/trunk version of Firefox:

Does this help?
Hello? Anybody????
at the very least you need either kp (or an equivalent) of !analyze -v

so. "no" what you pasted in comment 20 does not help.
What is KP or !analyze???????

Other people are having a lot of problems with FF crashing and their problems not being resolved, also. What is going on?!
those are commands for windbg.
reporter, Do you still see this problem. If you do not, please close the bug with resolution WORKSFORME, INVALID, etc as may be appropriate to your situation (but not FIXED unless you know the bug with the patch).

If you still see problem using a current version of Firefox or trunk build, please provide additional detail.
