User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Occasionally unable to enter text in search field of <www.versiontracker.com> using Firefox 1.5. 1. Click into "Search" filed at top left of page. 2. The field doesn't accept any typed data. 3. Rebooting OS 10.4.3 eliminates the problem, but it does reappear after time. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Mouse into "Search" filed at top left of page. 2. The field doesn't accept any typed data. 3. Rebooting OS 10.4.3 eliminates the problem, but it does reappear after time. Actual Results: Field won't accept any keyboard input. Expected Results: Field should accept any keyboard input.
Is the problem only in that specific search field or also elsewhere (URL bar, other web pages with forms)? What keyboard layout are you using?
>Is the problem only in that specific search field or also >elsewhere (URL bar, other web pages with forms)? Can't answer your specific-field question, but will let you know when it reoccurs. I've seen this happen on the <http://www.hallmark.com> site, too.

I asked because there is a known problem with certain keyboard layouts stopping to work after visiting a page with Java (bug 313807). But from your answer, I understand that this is probably an unrelated problem.

another duplicate of bug 319747 ?
