NO WEBSITES at all can be reached using the Mozilla Firefox 1.0.7 browser.

I have Windows XP SP 2, updated antivirus, updated antispyware, latest Windows critical updates, Zonealarm firewall, router, broadband connection. I uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox and Zonealarm. All cookies have been deleted. NO SITE at all can be accessed, even if I type in "www." and then the site name. Also, I even tried to type in "http://www." Internet Explorer 6.0 works flawlessly. But, the Firefox browser stopped working out of nowhere, for no known reason. Please investigate. My homepage is blank. Only
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Mozilla Firefox browser, from icon in Quick Launch or Desktop.
2. Type in a URL, then sit there and wait endlessly for it to connect.
3. Message appears stating that the brower timed out.
Actual Results:
The actual results following the steps to reproduce are as follows: A window appears stating that the browser timed out. No contents whatsoever are loading at all. The page appears white.
Expected Results:
I expected the brower to locate the URL and load the page completely.

If you can't reach any website this is most likely a firewall issue.

I also have had problems off and on with "time out" Today I found that
if I switched connection settings from manual proxy to auto, things worked
again (specifically gmail.com). Switching back to manual did not repro.
the bug. ie gmail.com was still accessible.
Others in my group have also seen this problem for certain sites.
