Kurt-Rune,
It would be nice if you would visit #firefox.no on irc.mozilla.org for a chat. The nn-NO module owner (Ronny Vårdal) has been working some on a nynorsk translation of Firefox, but failed to accomplish the goal before ff1.5. Firefox and Thunderbird shares a common 'toolkit' component, so either way the two translations are interconnected. We'd love to discuss cooperation with you. :-)

we already have thunderbird in nn-NO, planned for 2.0

please reopen if there are more registration/management required, or if any work still remains.
