317688 - Duplicates contact when using alternate email adresse for sending a message

When I send a message using the alternate email adress of a contact, a new contact is created with this alternate adress. This error exist since several versions.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a contact with a main and an alternate address
2. Send a message to this contact using the alternate address

Actual Results:  
A new contact appears in the address book with the alternate address as main address.


Expected Results:  
No new contact is created since it already exists.

This bug exists since the first version of Mozilla Thunderbird I used (1.0)

Perhaps changing the peramiters to the way that the address is added to the address book - where the softwre searches the default as well as the alternative addresses before it adds an address - this is mearly an extention to the current search perameters.
