User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Dragging text from an extrnal editor like Notepad++ to Firefox does not work. Dragging to anywhere in the page will result in a message that asks the users if they want to stop running a script. Dragging the text to a textfield in a form makes Forefox hang, unable to quit, forces the user to kill the process. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open an text-editor that allows selected text to be dragged, like Notepad++ 2. Type some text and try to drag it to a website in Firefox Actual Results: Firefox gives a warning about scripts, continue running scripts will cause it to hang. If the drop target is a text field Firefox will hang and no lnoger accept any events from the user. Expected Results: When Dragging text to the website nothing should happen, or display it as a text file. Unless it is a URL, Firefox should attempt to open that page. Dragging text to a textfield should set the text as the value for that field.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051121 Firefox/1.5 ID:2005112104 Works for me when dragging plain text from Notepad. Does this behavior also occur in safe mode ? (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode) Is it specific to Notepad++ ?

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051124 Firefox/1.5 ID:2005112403 I see this also with Notepad2 and also in 1.0.7.
I've tested it with the editors Smultron and TextWrangler on Mac OS X, there everything works fine. I've also tested it on Windows 2000 with Editplus 2 and Notepad++, this works too. It seems like this only occurs on Windows XP.
Also reproducible with Mozilla 1.8b1, SeaMonkey 1.0a and SeaMonkey 1.5a/20051125.
