I happily downloaded the firefox browser 3 days ago & now i click the icon to launch it & it don't work

I confirm this.  I downloaded and installed Firefox (Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5) and used it without problems for perhaps a week or two.  Now, suddenly, it will not launch when I click the icon in the dock.  I *can* launch by clicking and holding, then selecting "Open" from the menu.  I see nothing else wrong.

BTW, I have exactly the same problem with my Emacs (22.0.50.1), starting when I upgraded to Mac OS 10.4.  Possibly the whole thing is a Tiger issue.
