Details
(Whiteboard: [CLOSEME 5-15-2010])
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5
Every time I open a new window (but NOT a new tab) the content is automatically scrolled to the bottom. That is, the vertical scroll bar is all the way at the bottom (as is the content). This happens when I open a link in a new window from within a web page or from an external source (such as Trillian).
The issue started after I upgraded from 1.0.7 to 1.5. It has continued through RC3 and the current 1.5.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open mozilla
2. Open any link in a new window from within current web page or from external application (trillian, outlook, etc.)
3. Notice that page is vertically scrolled to the bottom/end.
Actual Results:
Page was vertically scrolled to the bottom.
Expected Results:
Page should be vertically scrolled to the top.

This must be caused by some extension. Maybe Search Bar Organizer ?

To find out if it is an extension problem, run Firefox in the safemode:

Ria, thanks for the quick and helpful comments. Yes, after restarting firefox in safe mode the issue does not occur, indicating it would be an extension. However, I have many installed, none of which are the "search bar organizer". Because I have so many installed, it is a huge pain to go through them to figure out which is the offender. Could you maybe take a guess based on this list:
DOM Inspector, talk back, adblock, statusbar clock, foxytunes, stop-or-reload, searchbar autosizer, colorzilla, ie view, copy plain text, measure it, context highlight, dictionary search, web developer, plain text links, customize google, mouse gestures, tab preview, forecast fox, search plugin hacks.
All are up to date.

I have no problems with DOM Inspector, talkback, adblock, statusbar clock, ie view, dictionary search and tab preview.
Ok, found it.. Thank you Ria! The extension "Searchbar Autosizer" v1.0.5 was the offender. Disabling this one extension resolved the issue. I have sent a notice about this issue to the site where it is hosted (http://xeen.reversestudios.com/?page=autosizer).
I haven't changed the status on this bug, since I'm not sure what your SOP is.
Thanks again.

Another guy reported this problem, too, I think it's caused by a conflict of my Autosizer extension and another (other guy who had this problem said it could be Forecast Fox and that it would only appear on some startpages, not on all).
I replied with further info and questions that help me find out this problem, I hope you gave me a real email adress, otherwise please contact me again via the form and send me a real one :)
Since this is caused by an extension, can someone mark this bug as "invalid"?
Thanks, xeen
