User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Website search keywords sometimes end up in the browser's find box even though one places the cursor in (example) google's keyword entry box. When it happens, it is difficult to get out of the problem. Dumping the firefox windows and even firefox completely does not solve the problem. As far as I can see older instances of firefox which were running before the bug took over remain OK - ie keywords go into the website search box rather than the browser's find box. Reproducible: Sometimes Actual Results: I suspect that the problem arises after one does a browser page find (^F). After that point all keywords end up in the browser find box - even though you put the cursor in the google search keyword box. Expected Results: You can't search google or anyother website. Firefox then only does a webpage search of the current webpage. No problem with previous final versions of Firefox. I noticed the same problem on beta versions of 1.5 and uninstalled it thinking it was so obvious that it was going to be fixed before the final version!

also seen with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3
extra - options - begin with searching when you type (translated from dutch) When I open the Google mozilla firefox startpage, I type a search term in the google field. Then the search bar from firefox appears and my google search term is filled in the mozilla find field. To solve that problem I need to turn off the automatic search from firefox. No problems in other fields from other pages (login, paswords, etc.)
I get a similar problem. When I left click on a drop down menu arrow once, then left click again once, a Google search list pops up. Doesn't happen with IE. You can see the phenomenum on www.tamokcub.com/googled.htm You can try it yourself on www.tamokcub.com - navigate using left menu to Products/KisiiMiniatures/Cats. You should see a Sitting Product. Left click once on the arrow of the drop down menu for Gift Pouches. Wait a sec. Left click once again on the arrow. It only works for me with a new instance of Firefox and without any other instance running. Could be very embarassing, I might get the blame for popping up a users search list! Running 1.5.0.3, Windows XP pro, Compaq Workstation A550 (dual PentiumIII), www.tamokcub.com built using ecommercetemplates 5.0.4 template.
This bug still occurs in the latest beta (minefield-3.0a9pre), under win2k. This is a really annoying bug.

The google search instead of keyword only happened to me when I accidentally had a space character before the keyword. 3.0a9pre.. is this still a current matter?
