RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 299343

People

(Reporter: bheinsius, Assigned: mscott)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5
Build Identifier: version 1.5 (20051025)

When I copy text from within a message and try to insert it elsewhere in the message on the first position of the line, it does not get pasted.
Reproducable in both Linux and Windows.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compose a new message
2. Type "Hello" <enter>
3. Type "How are you?" <enter>
4. Type "John" <enter>
5. Select the text "John" and copy it into the paste buffer using ctrl-c
6. Put the cursor at the beginning of the line above.
7. Paste using ctrl-v
=> the text does not get pasted.

If you hit enter, move the cursor one line up and paste, it does work.

Actual Results:
Text is not pasted

Expected Results:
Text is pasted
I don't know if this is a dup, but I've seen it too. It's an editor bug, I bet (though I guess you could try turning off inline spell-checking to see if that's a factor)
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
turning off inline spell-checking does not make a difference.
Related to Suite bug 300427 comment 3 (and/or maybe bug 317638)?
xref bug 305368; I'm sure I've responded in yet another bug about this problem, where I was able to reproduce it, but I can't locate that bug now.
