The mysql version is 4.1.14. I reinstalled bugzilla using lampp v 1.5.0, it has mysql version 5.0.15 and had the following problem while running checksetup.pl [root@lmo-arlfcs01 bugs-fcs]# ./checksetup.pl Checking perl modules ... Checking for AppConfig (v1.52) ok: found v1.56 ... Precompiling templates ... Checking for DBD::mysql (v2.9003) ok: found v2.9007 Checking for MySQL (v3.23.41) ok: found v5.0.15 Populating duplicates table... Migrating old chart data into database ... Obtain lampp (its easy) at www.apachefriends.org 2. Tar extract and put in /opt 3. Tar extract bugzilla to '/opt/lampp/htdocs' directory 4. cd bugzilla-<VERSION> 5. Edit localconf with the following: $db_host = 'localhost'; $db_name = 'bugs'; $db_user = 'bugs; $db_port = 3306; $db_sock = '/opt/lampp/var/mysql/mysql-sock'; $db_pass = ''; 6. Start lampp using commands cd /opt/lampp ./lampp start 7. Install bugzilla using cd /opt/lampp/htdos/bugzilla-<VERSION> ./checksetup.pl And you should get the bug mentioned in the details section.
I had no problem installing Bugzilla 2.22 with MySQL 5.0.15. Which version of Bugzilla are you using? 2.20? And if it's an upgrade, from which version are you upgrading?
The version of Bugzilla is version 2.20 and it is not an upgrade.
If you are running MySQL 4.0 or above, execute these commands first from your MySQL command-line client: GRANT SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, INDEX, ALTER, CREATE, LOCK TABLES, CREATE TEMPORARY TABLES, DROP, REFERENCES ON $dbname.* TO $user@$host IDENTIFIED BY "$pass"; FLUSH PRIVILEGES; This is from the docs. Did you execute these two commands before running checksetup.pl? Without them, your installation cannot work.
I ran those commands, in my output the statement Populating duplicates tables ... When I ran if the first time the statement above was replaced by statements about all the tables it created. If the permission had not been granted then that would not happened.
(In reply to comment #4) > When I ran if the first time the statement above was > replaced by statements about all the tables it created. > If the permission had not been granted then that would not > happened. Indeed, you are right.
'Access denied' is a support issue, not a bug in Bugzilla itself. If you want help with that, see: http://www.bugzilla.org/support/
