i had this problem with the betas, now I'm with ff1.5 but still on many pages on perl.com the browser freezes.
It may be some flash or something but I cant figure out..

Linux vr 2.6.10-rc3 #1 Sat Jan 8 22:15:17 EET 2005 i686 Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.53GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

ok I found what is the problem. All sites with Flash freeze/hang-up FF.
The reason is that flash player is linked to esd (gnome sound mixer), which i dont use anyway.
1. So i got to site with flash
2. browser freezes
3. now 'ps xa | grep eds' shows that it ESD is running
4. killall -9 esd
5. ff1.5 is no freezing anymore (everything works as usual)
   -ff is not killed just the ESD :)
As a precaution I've also done 'chmod a-x /usr/bin/esd', as prposed in this thread :

hmm. this solution seems to solved only the Flash problem,
but still when I got to www.perl.com, FF goes to 100% CPU and
almost freezes.
Closing the TAB happend ~1min after clicking [x]

PS. At all, last month or two I have very worse experience with FF,
upgraiding to newer versions and betas, only to find that something else
didn't work. :(
I have some extensions installed (web-developer,fasterfox,dload-manager,adblock,flashblock,gmail-check,dload-statusbar,js console, dom-inspector,showip,page-info...) but there is no easy way to just stop them temporarily so that I can isolate the bug if it is in the extensions.
Once tried to rename the directory, but later I had to reinstall all of them
again ..aggrrhhh...as u see it is nightmare to test problems in extensions even if i'm willing to ?!

The problem with flash is a flash Plugin problem and not a Firefox one.
Starting Firefox without extensions is of course possible :

so I runned in safe-mode and I have no problems with www.perl.com, that is good :")
Now how can I find wich of all the extensions is 'causing the problem ?
Is there some way to disable them one by one !?

Do you still see this problem with current version of browser AND flash player?
Please comment in the bug with your version and status.
