auto-detect mime type doesn't work very well.

It seems to be happening more often than not that when someone creates an attachment (auto-detect) that is xxx.doc (MSWord) file. The mime type is becomming application/pdfxxxxxxxxx instead of application/msword
The file can be fixed by changing the mime type but only expert users can manage that.

grrr, my user's computers are managed by a central server that put an extra mime type in for pdf --> .doc
