Have been facing a lot of problems, with the new file save/open dialog box, based in the GNOME desktop environment. If open the file open dialog box, it takes forever for it to load. If I try to save something, by doing a right click, the menu remains and the save dialog box comes behind that. Every thing blanks out and the browser hangs for a while. Had liked the old file dialog box, but the new GNOME based file dialog box sucks. I wonder if I can get back the old firefox file dialog box, with some extension. The same problem happened, when I tried to open a html file.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Right click on an image.
2.Select save image item.
3.

Actual Results:
The menu does not disappear. The file dialog box comes behind the menu. Everything blanks out for sometime. It appears like the browser has hung.

Expected Results:
Show the old firefox file save/open dialog box :).

I am using XFce desktop environment, with firefox having the default theme.
General slowness of the file selector is already discussed in bug 298861, this has to be fixed in GTK and/or GNOME itself, there is nothing we can do there.

What you see on right click save is bug 305970, which is already fixed on the trunk and may make it into the next release of Firefox 1.5.

Is there a way, I can get back the old file open/save dialog box. I mean by writing an extension. I was used to the UI of the old file dialog box. I have to make more clicks in GTK+ file dialog box to do something, in comparison with the old file dialog box.
