Details

discovered during Thunderbird testday. -Go Prefs/Options | Display | HTML Messages -Change the Background color to light yellow -Return to main mail window. Select a plain text message. -Select an HTML message. It seems quite the opposite of what is expected is actually happening Tested result: The plain text message now has a yellow back ground. The HTML message has a default white background. Expected results: The plain text message should retain a default white background while the HTML message should have a yellow background.
