go to a website that contains text and a picture

select some text and picture/s

file > print... selection...

if printer has a preview system it shows the preview incorrectly
the actual printout is also incorrect

picture is 'messed up' bands / garbage (seems to be a memory segment)

I suggest this is either a problem with the way the memory for the print is used, or the way the picture is read / written to the memory for the print

Steps to Reproduce:
1. any website with text and picture/s
2. select text and picture/s
3. print... selection...
4. if printer software has preview - then the picture/s in the preview dont look correct, bands or looks like a chunk of memory



Expected Results:  
selections should print correctly
pictures should print correctly

I should stress that its not just the preview thats wrong 
- the printout is also wrong (same as preview)

Same here (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5; HP officejet 6110xi all-in-one).

If an image is selected at the time of printing, I get horizontal stripes instead of that image in the printout. This makes print selection unusable for images, but it shows up whether or not I choose to print only the selection.

Me and my colleague can both confirm this bug.
Its reproducible every time.

Select text with images, choose 'print selected' and images will be printed out as vertical black/grey lines.

If you keep the same selection and choose 'print preview' you will notice the images in the selection being highlighted with a light grey color. This might be what causes the problem.

Someone please change this bugs status to confirmed.

I've tried to print a selection with the 1.5.0.1 and it worked as expected.

Good that it works; that makes it definitely a dup of bug 312415, because that fix got into the gecko 1.8.0.1 branch.
