It worked fine until the software update which did not include Mozilla; I was already using the new one. Reproducible: Didn't try
Are you sure that Firefox has not started a second, new profile? To find that out, start the profile manager and select the default one. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Folder
I'm not sure. When I found the profiles, there were 2. I copied the one from the old computer on a cd, tried putting it in the library where the others were, and nothing happened. That's probably what happened, but I have never had trouble with Firefox, so was a total surprise. Too bad FF doesn't have an export bookmarks feature. I, on teh old computer, imported the FF ones into Safari, then exported them to the desktop and to a disk, then put on the new computer, imported into Safari, and from Safari into FF. Quite a work-around, but I do have them back. I just hope it doesn't happen again.
