320635 - Enhancement request - message filters forward, delete on server, leave on server

Thunderbird badly lacks message filters when compared with other e-mail clients. Three that I would consider essential are :-

Forward (filtered) message.
Leave (filtered) message/s on server, do NOT download.
Delete (filtered) message/s from server, do NOT download.

1.5 has a forward filter action - as far as not downloading from server is concerned, you can set up the download size limit to control whether or not a message is downloaded, then you can tweak that with filters. The only filter action we don't have is "leave on server"

I really can't see how, the size of most e-mails is similar and impossible to filter with any degree of certainty whatever. I can't for the life of me imagine why anyone would want to "leave on server" by virtue of size only anyway, unless they had a mailbox jammed with an oversize file - in which case they would be no better off unless there was also a "delete from server" feature, as mentioned in my request. To be any use at all the "leave on server" option would have to work with all available filter criteria - or at the very least it would need to work on the To:, From:, CC:, and other common fields that people usually search for. Size? Not in a month of Sundays.

And "delete from server (without downloading)" and quite a few others that OE and, particularly,  Outlook have. I mentioned the three that I and others with whom I have discussed the matter have agreed to be the most important ones missing from TB. Others will have other priorities, but that is a reason to add more filters, not less, of course.
