After running the installer with the default installation settings it doesn't start up SeaMonkey once installation is complete.
A debug installation build looks like chrome is being registered but for some reason it doesn't fire up SeaMonkey.

Is there something special about a debug build, or was it the fact that it's Linux?
On Windows XP, a stub installer build will auto-launch seamonkey.exe after it has completion installation.
Summary: Installer doesn't startup SeaMonkey after installation. → Installer doesn't start up SeaMonkey after installation.

It was done because when installing on linux as root, for example, if you started SeaMonkey straight away it would be running as a privileged user - which is generally considered a bad idea. ajschult knows more (like bug # etc).
