This is a request for a feature not found in any other email clients I know of.

Background: While using email as main our support/issues tool at work, it is common to find a message out of thread which truly belongs to the same issue thread. This lone message might be posted as a follow-up, or a completely new email and thus does not get connected. I miss the ability of the email client to simply attach it to the thread. With other words, to set "In-reply-to" header field of a message to an arbitrary other message.

I hope the right person sees the light on this one. It could lift the email client more into the issues-management arena.

1. Start Thunderbird
2. The feature is not there :)
