Did proper uninstall. Install went without problem. When I visited the first page using Flash, SM didn't pick up that Flash 8 had already been installed. Re-installed Flash 8 solved problem. Also use PrefBar 3.2.1. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Uninstall previous SM version 2. Install new version 3. Visit URL with Flash: no Flash detected. 4. Re-install Flash 8, refresh page: problem solved. Actual Results: 1. Uninstall previous SM version 2. Install new version 3. Visit URL with Flash: no Flash detected. 4. Re-install Flash 8, refresh page: problem solved. Expected Results: SM should detect previous Flash installs. Had the same problem when upgrading from 1.7 branch to SM 1.0 a. Solved the same way.

The problem is the uninstaller deletes the plugins folder...have you tried just installing the new version over the old version without uninstalling that first? It's not a recommened way, but it should work. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 219701 ***

Thanks Frank, installing on top of previous version seems to have solved the problem. Should have thought of it, should have saved my old plugin folder before uninstalling and copied into new version's folder.
