Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5

If you type in the first letter of a URL in your history (for example, go to a few Amazon.com pages, and then, type 'a' in the URL bar), and put the mouse cursor over one of the entries, a popup will show (usually, if timed correctly.), with the Title of that URL. As soon as the cursor blinks, however, the popup will disappear. This happens all of the time.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a few pages, such as Amazon.com
2. Type 'a' or a first letter of a URL in your history in the address bar
3. Put your mouse over an item. A popup will show the Title of the page; it will disappear almost immediately; it seems to happen whenever the cursor blinks.

Windows XP SP1 with all patches except for SP2, Adblock Plus with Filterset.G updater. Default theme.

I see what you mean. I see it in branch but not in trunk.
It is repaired between 1.9a1_2005121413 and 1.9a1_2005121422.
http://bonsai.mozilla.org/cvsquery.cgi?treeid=default&module=PhoenixTinderbox&branch=HEAD&branchtype=match&dir=&file=&filetype=match&who=&whotype=match&sortby=Date&hours=2&date=explicit&mindate=2005-12-14+12%3A00%3A00&maxdate=2005-12-14+22%3A00%3A00&cvsroot=%2Fcvsroot

So it must be a (for me unknown) variant of Bug 306426.
