I need to schedule follow-up activities to meetings that occur on the second and last Tuesdays of every month. These should occur on Wednesday of the following week for the first (8 days later), and Saturday after the the meeting for the second (4 days later). Both of these are AFTER, but days BEFORE an anchor event would also be a useful capability. The third Wednesday and last Saturday are frequently incorrect. I use these to trigger Email reminders to various lists.
I do not think this capability exists in any version of the calendar. I don't know whether the best approach would be based on the anchor entry or on a linkage to it from the secondary event.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter a reoccurring event that floats in the Calendar (every second Tuesday).
2. Enter a second reoccuring event that should precede or follow the first one by a fixed interval.
3. Observe that the relationship between the first and second events cannot be maintained.
This is a suggested additional capability, not really a defect.

This doesn't sound like something we would be willing to implement in the application by default, since I can cannot think of a way to implement this without seriously increasing the complexity of our UI.
So this would probably better be implemented in an extension (with the chance to backport it to the base application once a certain demand is visible and a simple and usable UI has been created).

Religious holidays are another example that would benefit from this enhancement request (whether implemented in Lightning/Sunbird or as an extension).
In the following example, EASTER, PENTECOST, and CHRISTMAS would be the "anchor events":
Ash Wednesday: seventh Wednesday before EASTER
EASTER (user enters manually)
Ascension Day: ten days before PENTECOST
PENTECOST: seventh Sunday after EASTER
Advent: forth Sunday before CHRISTMAS
CHRISTMAS

I can't imagine how this could be modeled using rfc5545. The recurrence rules are all based directly on dates, not on dates of other events. Voting WONTFIX (or rather CANTFIX if there were a such thing).
