User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5
Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 1.0.7 (20050923)
It appears that not all fields are transferred from the palm to thunderbird.
I have noticed the following specific problems:
1. when a work address and home address are available then only the work address is synchronised and then also it is entered in the home address field in Thunderbird address book.
2. For some reason the 2nd mail address is not transferred into the Additional Email field.
3. Sometimes the mobile number is not transferred - although sometimes it is. It seems that when a contact has a work, home and fax number his mobile is skipped.
I think the important point here is the fax number but I'm not 100% sure.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. have a contact on palm including home and work address
2. have a contact on palm with 2 email addresses
3. enter a contact with home, work, fax and mobile numbers
Actual Results:
1. only the work address is transferred into the home address field
2. the 2nd email address is lost on tbird
3. the mobile number is not transferred.
As I do not want my data to get corrupt on my palm I am using the option that Handheld overwrites Desktop.
For me I would say a major feature is broken as I really don't want to lose all my home addresses or mobile numbers. Data integrity must be a major feature. Hope you agree.
I am using the newest official Tbird and I just downloaded (31Dec05) the newest palmsync.xpi from the official link the knowledge base (http://kb.mozillazine.org/PalmSync_%28Thunderbird%29).
Thanks in advance!

Ande, thanks for the bug report.
item 1 is Bug 226221
Can you test further to see if mobile number not transferred is 100% caused by a contact fax number?

I can verify that this bug occurs in the opposite direction, ie: Thunderbird 1.5 to Palm device (a Treo 650). Same circumstances, same result. A contact's second street address (a work address) is not transferred from TB 1.5 Personal Address Book but the first address is trasnferred and labelled (W) on Palm device.
Second email address is not transferred to Palm device.
Also, mobile phone number is sometimes dropped.
No fax numbers are used for any of my contacts, so that does not appear to be a factor in my case.
This data loss happens on every sync.(In reply to comment #0)
