after upgrading to 1.5, a small pop up screen with the firefox logo appears --- it does not do anything and on top say 1 item sent 0 kb available  it has the firefox logo in color with an arrow pointing to a smaller non color logo and then an arrow pointing to a folder with a A on it

Expected Results:  
just have main firefox screen come up

Do you have any extensions installed?
If so, have updated them?
For those that are compatible, have you disabled them to see if it's an extension or the browser itself?

That's not a popup winodw, it's the installer disk that opens in the Finder :-) You see the Firefox icon (color) on top of a back-and-white image that explains how to install the applciation. The folder with the "A" on it, is the icon of your applciations folder, didn't you recognize it ?

It should normally ask you to "drag the Firefox icon to your application folder or desktop", but to help users that can't speak english (it's an image, so we would need a different one for every language !), it now uses icons that explain what to do.
