User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 In the Mac version of Firefox, only PNG and TIFF are listed under 'Download Actions,' although about:plugins reveals a great many more filetypes. I want to change the default behavior for mp3 files, which is currently playing through Quicktime, to downloading automatically. However, I cannot do this because mp3 is not listed in the Download Actions menu. Reproducible: Always
I confirm Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1
That's because the default is to only show things for registered file extensions, which doesn't particularly work on an OS where file extensions are mostly meaningless. Workaround: use about:config to toggle the pref browser.download.hide_plugins_without_extensions to false, and everything on earth including audio/mp3 will show up.

and for thunderbird ? the workaround don't works
(In reply to comment #2) I think the ideal solution would be to have an 'add' button.
Just I mention in bug 377075 having the default set this way makes no sense. It just ends up confusing us users and getting reported as a bug.
