when I have finish to write any message the spell checker work and tell me that  he does't find any thing wrong in the message of course there is  some bad writing word in the text. I work in french, where is the dictionnary? before I was using Outlook ti worked fully well.
Could you help?

Reporter, are you using the English version of Thunderbird ? If that's the case, you need (obviously) to install the french dictionary. Go to Tools->Options->Composition->Spelling. There's a link to download other dictionaries. Or go directly to <http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/dictionaries.html>

Please follow the instructions at that page (save first on disk with a right-click on the link, then go to Thunderbrird in Tools->Extensions), otherwise they would be installed in the browser, not your email application.
