User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060106 SeaMonkey/1.5a Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060106 SeaMonkey/1.5a Noted a crash on initial load of above URL - I hadn't tried to enter a name and password yet, just load the page. (Also see it on webmail.east and webmail.west.) With images turned off, it doesn't crash. Used Pavuk to grab a copy of the page and all images, and tried to load the page from the local disk - if images are turned on, it crashes. Started renaming images one by one and found that one image - LoginBG_side.gif, reported by 'file' as GIF89a, 9999x5 - seems to be the culprit. Trying to load just this image by itself (no HTML) also results in a crash. Happens in FF 1.5 (release), 1.6a1 (as downloaded a few minutes before this report), and Seamonkey as noted in this report. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make sure 'load images' is on. 2. Visit http://webmail.central.cox.net/ (or .west. , or .east. ) 3. Observe crash before page fully renders. Actual Results: Browser crashes. stderr has: --- The program 'seamonkey-bin' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'. (Details: serial 20966 error_code 11 request_code 53 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) --- Expected Results: Rendered page correctly without crashing. OS is a recent (two days ago) install of Debian 3.0r1, with X 4.3.0.1. All browsers were tested starting with an empty ~/.mozilla directory. Testcase (Pavuk capture of site) will be attached shortly.

Load the only HTML file, or just load LoginBG_side.gif by itself, to see the bug.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 WFM on Firefox 1.5 here. This is likely a dup of bug 210931. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 210931 ***
