Details

New API plugins have to link with xpcom.lib for calls to methods of class
nsComponentManager and to resolve link errors due to inclusion of nsCOMPtr.h.
XPCOM.dll is not available in old browser installations, therefore the plugins
built against the new API can't be backwards compatible.
