Update to previous report:
Using task manager, I found that that Firefox was listed in Processes -- even though I had closed the browser and it did NOT show up under Applications! Using the end process command did not work! 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Downloaded Firefox 1.5 and installed
2.open browser and sent it to a website
3.does not go anywhere; close browser, but still appears under Processes in task manager and cannot be stopped.

Actual Results:  
as above. Restarted computer and experienced same sequence as above.

WFM. Have you tried:
- starting Firefox in its safemode to rule out extension problems;
- creating a new profile;
- or uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox?
