One thing users tend to do when they screw something up in Firefox, is to uninstall and reinstall it. However, profiles always end up being an issue. There should be a clear indication in the uninstaller that says something like "Firefox created one or more profiles to store your bookmarks, extensions and other data. Do you want to remove all profiles?"

Reproducible: Always
