Firefox stops responding while loading the location bar history for the first time, either for the autocomplete function while typing in the location bar, or when starting firefox with URL call from another app, etc. 
In short, the first time firefox loads a page, whatever the page, whatever the way it was instructed about the address.
(consider homepage being set to be empty/nothing)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.have several months of history, not clearing the location bar or history.
2.start firefox and type something in the location bar
2a.start firefox via URL double click elsewhere
2b.start firefox and go to the "Go" menu
2c.start firefox, open bookmarks, doubleclick on a link
3.

Actual Results:  
firefox stops responding for several seconds (the slower the system, the longer the history, the longer it takes to start responding again). 

Delays of several seconds are observed on P4/1.9GHz and 512 ram. 

I suspect it's not OS specific. 

While firefox is frozen loading this history, there is INTENSE disk activity in the profile dir. 


Expected Results:  
firefox to load the location history much faster. Maybe the file format handling algo is not efficient enough for large data sizes. 

The location bar history was gathered for several months and it takes increasingly longer time to load. 

Firefox does not offer any method of editing the location bar history whatsoever.  The Clear location bar functionality seems to have dissapeared also. 

For the sake of the autocomplete functionality I like having a large history, but this delay is making it very difficult.
