User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 When I go into the Options menu, i can set my homepage and preferences but when i click the "OK" button, nothing happens. the preferences i set work until i close the browser window. when i open the browser again, everything is back to default settings. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to 'Options' menu in the 'tools' bar 2.change any preferences 3.click 'ok' Actual Results: the window does not go away and the preferences are only saved until you close the browser Expected Results: the 'options' menu should have closed out and the preferences should be saved until changed/set to default again
I could not reproduce under Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060125 Firefox/1.6a1. Do you have any extensions installed as they might be causing this?
This sounds like your profile folder is read-only. Close Firefox, click Start > Run > type: %appdata% Look for the folder Mozilla, rightclick and you'll find the option in the Properties window.
I am experiencing the same problem. I think it has something to do with a recent Windows update I have installed. I tried the solution posted above, but when I uncheck "Read-only" flag for the Mozilla folder and reopen props, the "Read-only" flag is back on. I have not installed any Firefox etensions. Since I got that problems, I have updated to the 2.0.0.1 version (from 1.5), but the problem persisted.
I have the same problem. Ant solutions?
for me it went away somehow. maybe I restarted my machine? hm...
works for me in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/20070625 Minefield/3.0a6pre ID:2007062504 and Firefox 2.0.0.4 Reporter, do you still see this reported problem in a latest release - Firefox 2.0.0.4 ? Jim, if you see this problem, please try to start Firefox in Safe Mode http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode because this problem could be caused by add-ons etc and see if you can reproduce this in Safe Mode.
