Details
The customize sidebar has another display problem for me, in addition to bug #27888 (tree drawing) Opening a tree folder updates the display, but clicking to select an item in the tree panel does not cause any visible change (no update) BUT if you drag another window in front of the dialog, then bring the dialog back on top, the display updates and you can see that: 1) the item clicked is highlighted, as originally expected 2) the add/preview buttons are drawn as enabled. So this is a display update issue of some kind.

Isn't Ben working on this dialog?

Sorry to nitpick, but you can write out the exact steps to reproduce the bug you're seeing? I can't tell what the problem is. Thanks :-) Also please put what build you are using.

I have been trying to reproduce it. It only occurs after installing mozilla (M14 and M14w/PSM) and then a user runs it for the first time (root or normal user) and a profile is created before mozilla starts (The new profile window comes up first and you change hte name from mozProfile to something more specific). After the profile is created, a crowser window appears, but this browser has several display bugs: (Redhat 6.1 for i386 using KDE 1.1.2 window maanger) 1) The window frame can be resized, but not the content 2) Pressing "cutomize..." on the sidebar brings up the dialog with the display bugs described in this bug originally. After exiting mozilla, further session with mozilla by that user did not have these two bugs.

I don't see this problem using a current release if I: 1. Create a new profile 2. Launch that profile 3. Click on customize in the sidebar 4. Click on a folder such as From Netscape 5. Click on an item suck as Weath Everything works normally, Add and Preview are highlighted. Am I doing something different?

Okay...now it will not reproduce for me, either. Well...this will teach me not to submit bugs late at night. Even with a fresh install of the tarball, I can't get it to do that again.

:-) I'm sure you saw it, but if we can't reproduce it, then I have to mark it worksforme. Please re-open this bug if you see it again, thanks!
