Unsetting of Disable QuickLaunch Check Box on Preferences:Advanced dialog does not
do its job when I login to Windows XP Professional SP2 whether or not behind a
corporate firewall. In addition there does not seem to be a config option to
force SeaMonkey to unload (Disable of QuickLaunch). To do so, one must right-click the SeaMonkey icon in the System Tray and select Disable QuickLaunch
and press 'OK' when asked. This is VERY Annoying. Would like a method that when
I wish to Disable QuickLaunch it STAYS diabled after each login until I change it.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select Preferences from Edit Menu, select Advance category, unset QuickLaunch
Checkbox.
2. Logout of user account.
3. Login to a user account.
4. Observe that SeaMonkey Icon is still somewhere in System Tray.
Actual Results:
The icon is as observed. To actually disable QuickLaunch each time I have to right-click the SeaMonkey Icon, select Disable QuickLaunch Menu Item and accept
by pressing the OK button when asked.
Expected Results:
SeaMonkey does unload from memory.
SeaMonkey should NOT have loaded itself to be memory resident into the System Tray when I login, if I had unset the QuickLaunch CheckBox in the Preferences:Advanced Dialog Window. Your software is not functioning as expected. This makes one
wonder why have the option in the first place. If I beleived this really was
Mozilla.org attitude, I would Uninstall SeaMonkey. Just thought I would help out.

Some addition notes (mdm): I have checked the about:config command and so far have
not found a preference related to Preferences:Advanced:SeaMonkey_MemoryResident
reset to false or something. So I figure this must be some future feature not
yet gotten to. Well this is REALLY Annoying when you don't want it such that it
is almost not worth using SeaMonkey. After thinking about it though (at least for
windows *) you probably need two total preferences like {SeaMonkey_AutoLoad: of
type Boolean which means whether it starts on login (or at least use a shortcut in
startup folder instead); and SeaMonkey_Disable_QuickLaunch: Boolean which would be
the status of the menu command in the System Tray). This flag would need
persistence so that the status could be retained after SeaMonkey terminates.
Maybe related to Core bug 158146?

[mdm] link to bug 158146 is possible. This machine is WinXP Prof SP2
w/ 3 accounts. In addition I have not found where the status of that
preference check box is ever checked. It's value is not set in the
default/prefs directory. I now suspect this to be considered a future
enhancement. Ugh... :-(

since you mean 3 XP accounts and not 3 seamonkey profiles it should be bug 158146
