User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Firefox 1.5, with the new time out page seems to time out large uploads (8MB-20MB) before they are completed. We did not experience this pre- v1.5. Would it be possible to allow for a pref setting for the time out period? Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: depends on speed of internet/time of day. If the file is able to reach the destination before the time out we are OK...but if UL is at all slow then the time-outs occur.
Possibly invalid. Servers may time out on a lengthy connection. Apache for instance, with its default timeout setting, may kill any attempts to upload that takes longer than 5 minutes. Additionally, server-side scripts (like PHP) may also have their own timeout settings. These factors have not been mentioned in the bug report, and therefore possibly not considered by the reporter.
This bug was reported on Firefox 2.x or older, which is no longer supported and will not be receiving any more updates. I strongly suggest that you update to Firefox 3.6.3 or later, update your plugins (flash, adobe, etc.), and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated Firefox, please post here.
