User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Thunderbird/1.5 I've looked through Bugzilla, and people have commented on this as far back as 2001. It's fine if the initial default for Mozilla/Thunderbird is to sort in ascending view when one clicks on the date field header, but this really needs to be adjustable for all the people who prefer to have their newest messages on top. Even if it's just an entry in about:config that can be toggled and doesn't appear on the general messages, it's still needed. Lots of people have expressed interest in this, so can we please make it happen? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on Date column. 2. Observe result. Actual Results: Always defaults to sorting in ascending. Expected Results: Should either have an entry where this can be toggled to default to descending or at least remember after you have already set it to descending that this is preferred (e.g. if you switch from date to from momentarily and then switch back). Thank you very much for looking into this! :)
