User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050702 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050702 Editing forwarded mail in Yahoo! Mail Beta. I always delete header information before forwarding. Highlight header info, press delete, nothing happens. Go to Edit/Delete, nothing happens. Place cursor at beginning of header info, press delete, nothing happens. Type any character at beginning of header info (space, anything), then highlight rest of header info, press delete, deleted. Discovered in Firefox 1.5, confirmed in Mozilla. Minor, but annoying and cumbersome compared to previous releases where I could just highlight all the text and press delete. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Log in to Yahoo! Mail Beta 2.Forward a message 3.Attempt to delete old header info or any part of the message by pressing the delete key Actual Results: Nothing happens Expected Results: Deletion of selected text
can you try a more recent build? A trunk build or SeaMonkey 1.0 was just released.
Version: unspecified → 1.8 Branch
Yahoo won't let me use Seamonkey, it comes back with a browser not supported message. Sorry, I don't know what a trunk build is.
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/nightly/latest-trunk/ has trunk builds, but they still identify themselves as SeaMonkey. Can you try spoofing your UA? Manually set the pref "general.useragent.override" to the UA from either Mozilla ("Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050702")or Firefox.
OK, grabbed the trunk build from 01-Feb-2006 13:02 (2006020110), spoofed it as a Firefox, for some reason the string you provided was rejected also, got into YMB, the problem persists.
Are you certain that it works in previous versions (have you tried an older version again), or could Yahoo Mail have changed behavior?
Version: 1.8 Branch → Trunk
Confirmed - Firefox 1.0.4 works as expected.
Perhaps you are seeing Bug 318665?
Negative to 318665 - I can compose in DHTML, I just have this weird little bug in editing Forwards.
I've found a work around is to type one character anywhere in the text field. Then the header information can be deleted.
I no longer can get to my Yahoo Mail using my Mozilla FireFox Browser. When I click on Yahoo Mail, I get the following errors: "The page isn't redirecting properly." "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete." This was coincidental with 2 events: 1. "I upgraded to FireFox 2.0.0.13" 2. "I downloaded Apple SAFARI" Before I read this page I was blaming Apple for the problem. At least I can check my Yahoo Mail on SAFARI. I hope FireFox fixes this (so I can brag it up again).
WORKSFORME with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20090113 SeaMonkey/2.0a3pre In addition The new Yahoo Mail has been out of beta for years.
