You can vote for a bug, have it auto-confirmed and then remove the vote and move on to another unconfirmed bug. Depending on how much weight people place on unconfirmed/new this may be a minor nuissance. I voted for bug 289898 that confirmed it by popular vote, I just unconfirmed it and now it is still in the new status. I am not sure if there is an easy solution to stop the fraudulent behavior. However it would be nice if the bug_activity page gave more details about voting and indicated that a vote confirmed the bug, not a human with canconfirm. I could impress a lot of girls by showing them https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_activity.cgi?id=289898 and telling them that I have canconfirm on b.m.o:) I have the URL, now all I need to do is find girls that would be impressed:) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
not a severity of normal, I meant to hit enhancement
Severity: normal → enhancement
