The Lightning calendar menu items (Calendar, Day View, Week View, Month View, Go to Today) don't have keyboard shourtcuts, neither mnemonics (attribute accesskey) nor accelerators (attribute key).
Before fixing this task, it must be decided, if Lightning and SunBird should share the keyboard shortcuts or if each application uses it's own shortcuts.
I wrote up my first take on that not so long ago at <http://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:Accessibility>. However, after thinking about it some more, how shortcut sharing works is probably something that we need to decide before doing much work here. Sharing shortcuts across different front-ends is likely to be difficult, given the shortage of available shortcut keys in apps other than Sunbird. In particular, if our browser integration story ends up involving Lightning-in-Firefox, we may need several sets of key-bindings.
I'm quite much for having shortcuts as soon as possible. As far as I see, no F-keys other then F1 are attributed in Thunderbird, they could be a good choice, but I would also accept anything, thus I think this is a major point in accessibility.
I would like to point out that if a user does not display the toolbar then the only way to 'goto today' (or change view) is through the menu, very poor interface.
I still miss here: No shortcut keys yet, especially _F_ile,_E_dit,_O_ptions on New Task and New Event window. Also no shortcuts in Save Event/Task window when I press Esc: _Y_es, _N_o, _C_ancel
Bug 392584 has been resolved fixed one month ago. Can this bug be resolved too or are there still open issues?
