User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5 20051201 When selecting a folder for message moving or refiling, it is possible to jump to the approximate location of that folder by typing in the first letter of the folder name. However, this does not work with the letter "F". When "F" is pressed, "File Here" seems to be assumed. While this is indicated in the GUI by the underscored "F" in the "File Here" at the top of the menu, this seems inconsistant with every other letter of the alphabet. Might "Alt-F" be used for the file here option so that the underscored shortcut in this menu behaves like the underscored shortcuts in the main titlebar menu, and that the letter "F" behaves like all other letters of the alphabet in the folder selection context? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create two or more top level folders starting with the letter "F". (I have "Finance" which has numerous sub folders, and "FlyingSpaghettiMonster") 2. Attempt to move a message using keyboard shortcuts. I use the sequence "Alt-M, M, <right>, <right>, F". I expect that this sequence should navigate the selected menu item from the messages menu, through move message, through mail account selectoin, through inbox, and finally to warp to the first folder starting with the letter "F". this last step fails, and all the menus collapse since the action taken seems to be "file here", which is actually the current folder I am viewing. 3. Drink beer. Cuz that makes everything better.

This is fixed in Thunderbird trunk. I don't have bug edit privs... but I recommend closing this.

thx, David, marking WFM, since I don't know where the fix is. It seems to be working for me in TB 2.0 as well.

It doesn't WFM with version 2 beta 2 (20070122). Perhaps David Bolter meant Thunderbird3 when he said "trunk"?

Yes I tested on tbird3 trunk.

which is sufficient for marking it wfm, since bug state describes the state of the trunk. But if there's a simple fix on the trunk, we'd want it for 2.0
