Details

The URL has some technical data on lowering a process's privileges and what IE does with it's "protected mode".  We should look into this.
OS: Windows XP → Windows Vista
Any changes made will have major ramifications on native-code add-ins (e.g., Flash Player) and probably require revised versions of them to work properly. (Flash Player made lots of changes to its ActiveX control to work well in Protected Mode.)
