Hey, Just letting you know that Tabx the extension that adds X buttons to all tabs wont update in the extension manager. But it is on your site. Ive provided the link below! ^_- Just letting you know! - Alicia

Dosnt download the latest update for this version of the Extension.

Expected Results:  
it should download. hehe we know this already.

What version of Tab X did you have installed previously, and did you get that version from addons.mozilla.org?

I was running TabX 0.9.1, The previous version. I love the extension ( and i already got the new one from the link i gave) but i just wanted to report that it didnt update on its own when i selected "search updates" 

it was directly from your site though when i first got it. and it was directly from your site when i got it just a little while ago. Maybe its just not searching properly? Dont know really. But thanks for the reply! let me know if you need anymore info!

I have been using tab x as well for quite some time and have 0.9.1 installed which is not compatible with 1.5.0.1 (e.g. it has a maxVersion of 1.5) and has an updateURL of http://clav.mozdev.org/updates.rdf. It also does not have an entry for 0.9.2 which is the new version available from AMO so there is no way for it to know about the update. Chances are the install.rdf for the 0.9.1 version installed is the same as mine which would cause this behavior.

Reporter, if you have not already installed the 0.9.2 version we could verify if this is what happened for you - if not then the following steps will not provide any insight.

Go to your profile directory
http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile

inside your profile directory there is a directory named extensions and inside that there should be a directory named [e-mail]. Inside that directory there should be a file named install.rdf. Please attach that to this bug.

I highly suspect that if the author had updated their extension's update datasource at http://clav.mozdev.org/updates.rdf this would not have failed for you.

i do have 0.9.2. ( its working fine for me now, just needed to be updated )
 but i am a bit lost on what youve said other than that...

i just used google to look for the updated version of the extension, and it led me right back to your site, so i just wanted to report that it wasnt updating and such even though it IS on the site. *shrugs*

I've just downloaded 0.9.1 from AMO and the update URL was http://clav.mozdev.org/updates.rdf so this is something the extension author needs to sort out. Any future extensions downloaded from AMO should not have this problem due to their new policies.

yeah. im used to the do not reply messages, but when i saw a link to the email i figured that was okay to send to. 

I think ive got a good grasp on it now though lol, just took a bit! sorry!

Since you have already installed 0.9.2 there is no additional information to go on in order to determine the cause of this.

The version of tabx 0.9.1 I have uses data that is provided by the author of tabx. The author has not added to the data that version 0.9.2 is available. So, a notification of an update would never be received by users with that version of tabx. Also, the data that is provided and maintained by the author states that 0.9.1 is only compatible with Firefox 1.5 and not compatible with 1.5.0.1.

I have experienced the exact same issue as you have and this is due to the author not updating the data used with the info for the 0.9.2 version.

Though we can't confirm with 100% certainty that this is what you were experiencing since the install.rdf file is no longer available since you upgrade the extension I am quite certain that what you experienced the same problem I experienced which was caused by the author not updating his extension's update datasource.

youre probably right about that. I guess somones just gonna have to get on him to update that information then huh? lol

well if i can find the author and contact him would you like me to ask him to look at this thread? 

maybe he can fix whatevers up with it..

It is actually very easy to add the data and that would fix this.
