I have set the configuration to popup for confirmation re sending a read receipt.

Even though this has been set Thunderbird doesn't promp me, and just sends a read receipt.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Under Options -> Return Receipt --> When I receive a request for a return receipt.
2. Allow return receipts for some messages 
--> If im not in the To....Never
--> If the sender is.......Ask Me
--> In all other cases.....Ask Me

3. Receive an email that has request a return receipt, and check the sent folder. The return receipt will automatically be sent withou a promp asking what to do.

Actual Results:  
Set the configuration to 'Ask Me' for return receipts, and receive an email that has a return receipt request.

Thunderbird will automatically send a return receipt without prompting.

Expected Results:  
The sent folder showed that a return receipt was send

Prompted to confirm that a return receipt was request, and should it be sent? Yes/No options.

Is that IMAP or POP? 
Any filtering involved? (In that case, see bug 277914)

Seems to work fine over here using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20060205 Thunderbird/1.5 ID:2006020506

I re-installed Version 1.5 & this has resolved the problem.
