Latest CCK build dated: 03-16-00
O/S: WinNT4.0
Steps to reproduce:
1. Install latest CCK
2. Launch CCK
3. Create MyISP build without CD autorun shell
4. Burn CD and install to clean Win98 machine that is not connected to a LAN or
dialup connection.
5. Launch the customized build
6. View the Customized MyISP browser titlebar text.
Results:
As the browser tries to load the default home page (home.netscape.com) it fails
to resolve DNS. However, the custom "MyISP" browser titlebar text is not
displayed. User will have problem verifying that this customization made it
into their build if they test on an unconnected machine.
I experienced this with the static logo gif, but am unable to reproduce the
behavior.
*** Bug 32590 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
This is a browser bug. The mainWindow.titleModifier in Navigator.dtd doesnt
appear in the top of the window unless if it is connected to the net. Please
reassign to someone in the browser team.

Bill, can you take care of this later?

this is the behavior that I'm experiencing:
1- Install customized browser with custom titlebar text (to clean machine - no
previous installs of Netscape 6)
2- Create new profile
3- Verify that the customized titlebar text appears
4- Exit Netscape 6
5- Launch Netscape 6 Profile Mgr
6- Select Work Offline
7- Start browser
8- View the titlebar text.
Results:
If browser in offline mode and is unable to load a web page, the titlebar
defaults to "Netscape 6 (Build ID: 2000080712)"... and never loads the
customized text.
I think this is as designed. Correct?
I have no idea, because I don't know how "custom titlebar text" works, or is
supposed to work. Varada's comment of 03/29 couldn't be verified by me (that
.dtd entry appeared even if not connected to the 'net). But maybe I
misunderstood what he is saying.
I think we need a CCK engineer (Varada :-) to explain exactly how this is
supposed to work and what he was able to discover previously (I assume that lead
to his comment posted on 03/29). I'll be glad to talk to him about it.

I spoke to Varada about this. I'm marking Verified since it appears to be
expected behavior.
