Junk mail filter stops classifying, or otherwise seems to abort mid-way

Details
I've been seeing this more and more over time, with Tb1.0.x and now 1.5 -- maybe a function of the size of my training data? Sometimes only one of many spams is marked. Sometimes all are marked and light-gray-highlighted -- if I scroll the thread pane the highlighting turns dark blue (Linux selection), so maybe this is just a painting bug. But it's as if the filter trips over its own shoelaces part way through. If I rerun (Alt-T - U to navigate the Tools menu and Run Junk Mail Controls on Folder, sometimes the filter finishes. Often, though, it seems to get stuck unable to do anything. Alt-T - L doesn't delete the marked spams either.

I'm sorry to say that I switched to Mail.app when I switched to an MBP (thinkpad died) -- the integrated search won me over. I may go back to Thunderbird yet; if I were on Windows or Linux, I'd still be using.
If no one else sees this, may as well marked it FIXED. Hate to call it INCOMPLETE.

INCOMPLETE seems best as no one else is cc: from that period to corroborate problem is gone.
