When comparing the pref panels "privacy / passwords" in Firefox and Thunderbird, it is confusing that both panels look mostly identical, but both contain one checkbox (only), with different wording, which indeed have different meaning. Mozilla/SeaMonkey have two checkboxes, which both make sense for both Firefox and Seamonkey. Firefox has a checkbox to toggle "remember passwords". Thunderbird has a checkbox to toggle "use encryption when storing passwords". This bug suggests that both pref panels should be consistent. The checkbox "use a master password to encrypt" should be added to Firefox.
