2/6/6 turned off puter everything fine turned puter back on 2/7/06 and yahoo toolbar was on the browser which i didnt install and all my bookmarks are gone. also all my search engines google,ebay,wikipedia they gone also tried to readdd the engines wont work i have been BLE TO ADD A FEW BOOKMARKS but firefox wont addd them i click add bookmark click ok the nuttin happens

i tried to reinstall bit have same results no serach engines

I got the same set of problems when 1.5.0.5 installed itself. I am using Win XP SP2. Evidently the Firefox install wiped the old directory, since I did a System Restore to get the old version and bookmarks back, and it didn't work. Also, you can't add any bookmarks to the new install of 1.5.0.5, making it pretty useless. 

Since these problems are so crippling, I will have to use another browser until this release is fixed. I guess you shouldn't trust anybody, but I have had no problems at all with Firefox since the beginning, so I didn't even hesitate to let this update run. Shame on me - but can you even stop one of these? It downloads itself and then announces it will update now or later. Is there any choice to NOT update?
